Come out and see snakes from all over the world. Snakes from Africa, Asia, South America, and right here in North America. Learn what they eat, how they survive in difficult environments, what snakes make good pets. The night doesn’t belong to snakes alone – there will be turtles, tortoises, lizards, and alligators. So come on out and get your snake on!
These kits are a fun resource for parents, caregivers , and teachers to encourage school readiness.
Each backpack kit is themed and typically includes several high-quality picture books, three to four educational games or toys, and an activity guide showing how to use the items and giving a variety of ideas to support children’s learning beyond the backpack.

The Strengthening Young Families Mini-Grant helped pay for the Early Learning Backpacks.
We are excited that our StoryWalk is back out for our community to enjoy. The StoryWalk starts at the corner of Adams Street and ends at the Unadilla Public Library. Please stop in our library and sign our StoryWalk notebook.

Thursday, July 21st 1:00 PM at the Unadilla Public Library Steve “The Dirtmeister” Tomecek. “Dive Into Reading” is designed to introduce a family audience to some of the wonders of the marine environment and takes a deep dive into the history of how explorers first challenged Earth’s watery realm.
Thursday, July 28th 1:00 PM at the Unadilla Public Library Nels Ross – Variety Entertainer. Nels Ross entertains and uplifts people. Join us to celebrate laughing, learning, and our theme “Ocean of Possibilities”.
The Unadilla Public Library summer reading program – Storytime will be held Thursday, July 7th through Thursday, August 25th.
Storytime will be every Thursday 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM. Storytime is open to all ages, but is geared from birth to 7 years. A craft will take place after Storytime.
Saturday, July 9th we are having our Annual Book Sale 9 AM- 2 PM.
There will be lots of items available at our book sale.
